Who is responsible
Tidyfy (“the app”) is made by RBN Apps. Questions about this policy: service@rbnapps.com.
What the app does not do
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No analytics, tracking or advertising.
- No servers of our own: the app never sends your photos, videos, contacts or calendar anywhere.
- No data is sold or shared with third parties.
Photo library
Tidyfy asks for access to your photo library to find duplicates, similar shots, blurry photos, screenshots, large videos, Live Photos and clutter such as QR codes, receipts and images saved from the web. All analysis happens on your iPhone with Apple’s built-in image recognition. Nothing is uploaded.
To make later scans fast, the app keeps a small summary of each photo on your iPhone: its file size, a short visual fingerprint, a sharpness score and a few labels such as “receipt” or “document”. It is not a copy of the photo. To recognise images saved from the web, the app checks whether a photo’s file says which camera took it; those details are not kept. You can clear it in Settings → Data, and it is removed when you delete the app.
Photos and videos are only deleted after you confirm in iOS’s own dialog. They go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where you can recover them for 30 days. Compressed videos and still versions of Live Photos are saved back to your library with their original date, location, favourite mark and albums.
Private Photos
When you choose to, Tidyfy reads the text in your screenshots and in photos of documents to spot ID documents, bank cards, bank details and passwords, so you can move them into the Private Vault. This uses Apple’s built-in text recognition on your iPhone. The text is not stored or sent anywhere; the app only remembers which kind of private photo it found, to make the next check quicker.
Contacts
If you allow it, Tidyfy reads your contacts to find duplicates and cards without a phone number or email address. Contacts are only merged or deleted when you tap to do so. Before making changes, the app saves a backup (a vCard file) on your iPhone, visible in the Files app. Backups stay on your device unless you share them yourself.
Calendar
If you allow it, Tidyfy reads your calendars to list events from the past. Events are only deleted when you choose them. Because your calendars are managed by your own account (for example iCloud or Google), deletions sync to your other devices in the usual way.
Private Vault
Photos and videos you add to the vault are copied into the app’s own storage on your iPhone, protected by iOS file encryption. The vault is unlocked with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. iOS handles this check, and the app never receives any biometric data.
Like other app data, the vault is included in your iPhone’s own backup (iCloud or your computer), if you use one. Deleting the app deletes the vault, so save items back to Photos first if you want to keep them.
Widget, Siri and Shortcuts
The widget shows your free storage and how much you have cleaned with Tidyfy. This information is read and kept on your iPhone. The Siri and Shortcuts actions run on your device as well.
Purchases
Tidyfy Pro is a weekly, monthly or yearly subscription bought through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment under Apple’s privacy policy. The app only checks with Apple, on your device, whether your subscription is active. We receive no personal or payment information.
The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. You can cancel or change it at any time in your iPhone’s Settings under your Apple Account → Subscriptions, or in Tidyfy under Settings → Manage Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of a period to avoid being charged for the next one; Pro stays on until the paid period ends.
What is stored on your iPhone
- Your settings, swipe progress and cleanup statistics.
- The photo summaries described above, including whether a photo looked private.
- Contact backups and the Private Vault, if you use them.
- How many free compressions, Live Photo conversions and photo shrinks you have used. This count is kept in your iPhone’s secure Keychain so it is not reset by reinstalling, and it contains nothing about you.
Everything except that count is removed when you delete the app.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
